F1 Fever
I had a very busy weekend… Since Friday we were in the Marina Bay Area to watch the F1 Night Race. Too bad, we don’t have tickets for the three day race but Alvin managed to buy one ticket for the Friday practice… And I waited for him in Marina Square till midnight
. The good thing was I had the luxury to shop!![]()
On Saturday, we toured around the race circuit to look for another best spot to sneak in (so PG!)
. We walked for hours and hours! Imagine yourself walking around Orlando golf course (minus the greeneries)… Our friends who came along with us were pissed off with this idea! Sorry guys… ![]()
For those who are ticketless (like us), the best spot was the Marina Square along Raffles Boulevard since the fence was not covered. Though you hardly see those race cars since that area was the fastest stretch on the Marina Bay circuit and cars are expected to reach in excess of 300kmh at full throttle… Tonight, the race ended around 10PM and Alonso of Renault won the race! During Saturday’s qualifying session, he was number 15. He even told that the race is over… that if they were able to get the fifth or sixth place, it would be a fantastic result. Tonight must be Alonso’s lucky night… but not for Massa of Ferrari. On lap 18, Massa was the race leader but something came up… He drove off with a huge part of the refueling rig still attached to his car. His crew’s signal that he could leave the pit came too early… As a result, he finished the race without a single point for the first time this season
. I wondered what happened to his crew by now.![]()
I’ll just post more of Alvin’s shot in my next blog. As of now I have to grab some sleep. ![]()
