Sunday Lunch at Bakerzin

Sunday is a free diet day for me (ok, everyday!) but usually, our Sunday lunch is always special:)… We see to it that we’ll have lunch in a good restaurant before watching a movie, shopping, chilling in Stabucks or going home. It was my first time to eat at Bakerzin; actually I’ve been to Bakerzin a couple of times but I had pastries or cakes. This time we ordered bread, an aglio oglio pasta with ham and bacon and the pan fried pork chop. I love the food! I was planning to try their strawberry shortcake but we were so full again. Oh, maybe next time I’ll try the seafood pasta since it looks very very good. :) Takaw!

By the way, Alvin and I are somehow getting bigger… that’s why we are thinking of getting a gym membeship, buying an exercise equipment or trying yoga. :) What do you think? Feeling health buff! :))

New York Skin Solutions

It’s been quite a while since this New York Skin Solutions started bugging me… calling almost twice a day! I even told them that I’m not interested with their services but they keep on pursuing me and telling me that I should give it a try since its just a free consultation and facial treatment. Since I’ve read bad reviews about them, I haven’t answered any phone calls from their number but my gosh, they are also using another number and there are times that a “private number calling” appears! When a “private number calling” shows, I have no choice but to answer since I’m hoping that it’s my inlaws. But to may dismay, it’s New York Skin Solutions!

To stop them from pestering me, I then finally gave in… I went to the ‘free consultation + facial treatment’. On my way there, I was having second thoughts since I wasn’t sure if I could say NO to any of their offers or if I could go out of their clinic without shedding any cent!

When I walked in, I was greeted by their receptionist and was asked to wait for a moment… I immediately texted Alvin and told him that my skin looks better compared to their receptionist’s! :-> And then I was brought to the consultation room and was asked to fill out some forms… then came the skin consultant. My skin was analyzed using a machine that magnifies the skin; I was told that my skin is starting to age… there are some fair lines and that I have some white/black heads on the nose area. And then the sales talk! My gosh, she was selling me a package that costs $1,190 for 10 treatments! She told me that the original price of that is more than 3K! Whaaat??? She told me that their products are natural acne treatment; organic and safe for the skin! But I don’t think I can shed that amount of money for my skin. Honestly, I don’t have a problematic skin… I told her that I need to consult my husband regarding this. I called Alvin and asked him for a good excuse: tell her that you need to consult your dermatologist prior to any treament since you have a sensitive skin. I even told her that I don’t want their free facial treatment anymore! But she told me that I couldn’t go home and should finish the facial treatment… Ok.

And then, I was guided to the treatment room to have the facial and then she worked on half of my face to show me difference but I honestly told her that I don’t see any difference at all. :-> That time, I wasn’t able to relax since I know that they would insist their offers/promotion again before allowing me to go home.

After the treatment, I was bugged again! This time, she told me that I can pay it in an installment manner or buy their 300 voucher for 6 treatments. As usual, I said no again and look for another excuse!  Mind you, she even called her manager… and then same explanation over and over again! When she told me that I could pay $100 for two treatments; I then agreed. It’s seems that I didn’t have a choice and I couldn’t go home without paying anything! x(

Lesson learned: there’s no such thing as free!

Health Update

Alvin’s doctor’s appointment is in every three months. From the check up last time, the doctor was happy with his development… His blood tests are normal and his weight is now ideal for his height (1 Kl is the maximum allowed weight gain for him).:D

Since Crohn’s disease has no known medication, the only thing that we can do is to suppress its attack. He should continuously take the immune suppresant drug and Pentasa. This makes me think: he is taking an immune suppresant drug while taking multivitamins and vitamin C for a better immune system. Ironic, isn’t it? :-?

Anyway, he will undergo a colonoscopy again by July to thoroughly check his colon. Before the procedure, he needs to take a colon cleanser and be on a soft diet. :) I just pray that everything will be alright. :)

Is Summer Over?

Is summer over? We did not even have the chance to go to the beach and enjoy the summer heat.:(

I envy my facebook friends… seeing their beach escapades and out of town pictures makes me disappointed. Lolee spent 3 days in Bohol, some spent their vacation in Boracay or Cebu and one of my friends was able to experience  rv camping with her family in the US. Hay! It makes me miss home… :|

Hopefully this A(H1N1) flu scare ends very soon… We want to go home! :)

Addicted

I haven’t been blogging lately… I am so addicted in Facebook’s applications, even Alvin! Last Monday, Alvin was on leave and we just spent the whole day at home playing Restaurant City and Farm Town! :))

We were supposed to go out and buy computer memory but we were too busy as a farmer and a restaurateur at the same time!:)) Imagine, we had dinner at around 9PM. Since it was already late, we just ate in a Korean Restaurant in our area. I ordered Bibimbap and Alvin had the Kimchi Fried Rice. I was happy when we were given so many side dishes… just like the Korean way. Usually, when we eat at a Korean Restaurant, we are only served with Kimchi and anchovies. We both liked the side dishes and my Bibimbap was slightly good. On the other hand, Alvin find the fried rice a bit sour compared to what we had in PP before… Maybe (just maybe) that is how an authentic Kimchi Fried Rice should taste. And my gosh, the serving was too big! We did not even finish our food since we were too full already. As in!

Korean Dinner

Now, back to FB! :->

Singapore Botanical Garden

Alvin and I had a trip last Sunday at the Singapore Botanical Garden. After our not so good late lunch at Lau Pa Sat Festival Market, we went there at around 4PM. We had been planning this trip for quite some time now but the weather has always been unpredictable; it’s either too hot or it’s raining! But this time, Alvin was able to convince me to walk under the heat of the sun for a photo shoot… Arte!:-> Well, I can say that we had a great time even though we were sweating to the max!#:-S

Alvin was able to practice his macro shoot using his Raynox… I, on the other hand was able to explore my camera’s other options/modes. Well, here are some of our pictures:

Pink Flower

We were not able to tour all areas since it was getting late already; we only visited the National Orchid Garden. Maybe (just maybe) this Saturday we’ll be able to explore other areas since Alvin will have his check up at Gleneagles Hospital which is just beside the Botanical Garden.

Anyway, I highly recommend the Botanical Garden for those nature lovers… those who enjoy outdoor relaxation, greeneries and flowers. As for me, Taka is still my favorite place.;;)

Lulu’s New Look

We got the Paul Smith’s 100% Wool Laptop Cover for Lulu. We really had a hard time finding this one; we went to Paul Smith and iShop but it was not available here in SG. I even emailed Club21 (carrier of Paul Smith) regarding this product and was referred to iShop again. Anyway, this can only be purchased online at iamhuman… :)

Arte, puro porma! :)) Buti pa si Lulu naka Paul Smith;).

Japanese Ramen

We had our dinner in PP at Ajisen Ramen; Alvin and I ordered their set dinner meal. We both had Cha Shu Ramen but Alvin ordered the spicy one… I am not really a fan of Japanese Ramen but once in a while I crave for it. I find the steaming meat-based broth very tasty especially the sliced pork. Oishii! :D

I am so fascinated with Japanese foods/confectioneries/products… especially the chocolates! By the way, good news for the Muji lover! I read that they will be having a sale at Suntec this Saturday. Hmm… tempting:->. I want to go! Perharps I’ll drop by after I mail the piano sheet music to my friend in Manila.

We really want to visit Japan soon:-<… hopefully we’ll be able to squeeze a Japan trip in our budget!;;)

Labor Day Happenings

It was holiday so we had a swimming escapade with some of our friends in our place… We started swimming at around 1PM. It was too hot but who cares! What’s the use of sunblock?!:-> Anyway, we really had a great time. So tired! After our swimming, chikahan and asaran in the pool we went to Orchard for a photoshoot: the Female & Nuyou Longest Catwalk in Orchard Road.

Pat and I couldn’t stand the crowd and heat at the event so we just had a chat at The Coffee Club in Takashimaya while waiting for the boys. We were just planning to grab a light snack but we ended up ordering too many foods. It was my first time to dine at this Restaurant and the food is not too special… but too heavy!#:-S

For now, I have to sleep… tomorrow will be another photoshoot for Alvin! Hopefully, I can do a research regarding HGH reviews before we leave for the event. So tired!:-<
